Building A Dream Together!

It has been an eventful journey since I founded Riverside Networks in 2001, but I was determined, even with some really big fish as competition and  some personal set backs to develop Riverside Networks as a safe harbour web community for all ages.

Why? well without rambling, even at a young age I had a creative mind and dreamed of having a business that could advertise on television one day.

The Commercial World Wide Web!
After going through the 'what am I here for', and 'what's it all about', as a young man in my working life. I found my holy grail one cold April in 1994 and began to learn about a young guy and a few friends, putting a project together, with a piece of software, known as a 'browser' called mosaic in the good ole USA. The students began communicating with each other and Colleges on the same network. The greatest journey and phenomena for all mankind, that we know today, as the 'Commercial World Wide Web' had begun.

The early day's of the web were great, pure, clean and innocent. For me it was the equivalent of Crosby, Stills and Nash - the Woodstock experience.

All Good Things Must Come To An End
But as they say, all good things must come to an end! So today, whilst the web is absolutely phenomenal, there are no clear defined lines of behaviour and accountability in the form of an ethical codes of conduct as a result the web is currently experiencing the social ills of money fraud and theft.

The Web Can Be Daunting!
The above mentioned leads me on to say that if you are new to the web it can be a daunting experience and environment, even the most experienced can be caught out.

On the Riverside Networks safe harbour web community, nothing will jump out of the woodwork (PC in this case), I do hope we become one of your illustrious bookmarks or favourites as 'Windows' would say.

Size Of Support Matters!
For here at Riverside Networks, with your help and support. I wish to further develop the service on time honoured ethical practices and in the true spirit of the web.

No Pop Ups or Abuse!
On our network, you will not be abused by Pop Up advertisements, misleading links, defamatory or offensive comments to mention a few. Our advertisers are the real deal. Either Blue chip household brand names or genuine localized deserving businesses established for many years where you live in our regional web community portals.

I hope your web surfing experience here at Riverside Networks Web Community will be an enjoyable one and a safe environment to shop till you drop, on-line from the comfort of your home.

The Netscape Experience!
Those of you who never experienced the Netscape revolution, I hope will capture some of that atmosphere as we further develop our 'classic retro services' and features.

Our Web Guide!
The building of our Web Guide is with an aim to providing answers to your questions in our FAQs section and as these requests are made for help to a problem or seeking a solution through our feedback service. We will write tutorials on the subject for future friends on the web with the same problems.

Riverside Networks Computer Sciences Academy
Was an idea of mine to use my past skills and knowledge to build free open source projects for the greater good of the World Wide Web. Coupled with those, localized software in the form of our continued, licensed editions of the Netscape Navigator family. With new bundles that include Mozilla Fire Fox Browser and the Thunder bird Email Suite UK Editions. All of which are all free to download and use.

You can really help!
If you are new to the web, experienced, old or young I would appreciate your interaction and advice on services you feel that we could introduce, improve, develop, or create new features for our web community silver surfers of all ages.

Help Build Your Local!
I am currently designing the network in a unique way, so our web community home pages can be personalized to the local region of where you live. Launching 'Front Page Publisher' so specialized businesses and local shops can advertise and promote their services through News sections and editorial features. If you would like to suggest a region where you live and would like to contribute, I would like to hear from you.

Out Of The Box Brain Storming!
I have a great many ideas running through my head all the time. I've started a diary to record the ideas and the framework to achieve these services on Riverside and also to protect my intellectual property. Some of the new projects I have created coming on-line now and in the next few weeks for all members of the web to use are;

to mention a few and to bring back on-line 'Live Online' On demand web radio services and leading stations.

The DevEdge Zone
It's worth taking a look in our DevEdge Zone to get more information on the new projects and services planned.

Our Great Search Engine Providers!
As mentioned before, Riverside Networks module is built in the spirit of the web and on ethical grounds. In view of this I am extremely pleased to have Yahoo as our search engine providers. They are the best, they are great and always will be. They are also recognised as a long standing Web Search Engine service and therefore comes under the banner as one of the founding fathers in their field and warrant grandfather rights status in our industry. They are second to none and continue to develop new technologies today for the greater good of the World Wide Web and it's inhabitants. If you can't find it on Yahoo, it's not worth finding in the first place.
